Legal Counsel for Your Future
Criminal Legal Defense
When you are facing criminal charges, you need a lawyer who is familiar with the justice system, understands your rights, and knows how you can best defend yourself. John J. Grenko, Attorney-at-Law defends clients in Reading, PA, and throughout Berks County. Put his experience to work for you as soon as you are arrested or questioned.
Your Rights
You have a right to legal counsel. You do not have to answer questions pertaining to the matter you are accused of without a lawyer present. Contrary to what officers may tell you, it will not reflect poorly on you to wait for a lawyer, nor will you obtain any kind of advantage by talking to them alone. It is your constitutional right to have an attorney during the entire legal process.
A police officer should have read your rights. The right to remain silent is critical to your legal defense. Cooperate during the process, but do not discuss the case with anyone, including police officers, other professionals, people in the waiting or holding areas, or even family. All of the facts of your case rest on you speaking only to your lawyer about it.
